I spray painted a background on this art journal spread and let it sit a while out on the table. After a few days I decided to dip my hands in paint on my paint palette and make handprints on the page, just as children do in kindergarten or first grade when they are beginning their learning experience. Afterwards I wrote a short story in free verse about my hand, printed that out on see-through vellum, and affixed the vellum sheet to the top of the page. This spread speaks to me in an unexpected way and it very much pleases me.
