Child’s Play: 21 Secrets

Alma Stolller brings you back to a simpler time to connect you with your uninhibited and creative art self in her Child’s Play Workshop on 21 Secrets. Prepping pages for art journaling using a variety of mixed media techniques had me totally absorbed in the process and at one with my art spirit. Yesterday I attended an evening lecture that focused on the concept of mindfulness and being present in the moment. When focused on an engaging art activity this is exactly what happens: mindfulness. Thoughts of the past and the future recede into the background and there is only the here and now. For me art is a centering activity that greatly enhances my vision and my clarity.

Isn’t it fun to prepare backgrounds? I’ve heard so many good things about that course, I hope you’re enjoying it!

I loved Alma’s class too! Your pages with the cut scraps on them remind me of stained glass - just beautiful!

Mary, This is such a fabulous post. Mindfulness is certainly key. So glad you have found it in art. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading through several of your posts tonight. Your whole site exudes creativity on every level. I also have a special spot in my heart for quilters : )

Hi Mary…I was doing the same thing last night and it just clears out the inner cupboard - especially when the work is preparing backgrounds and you are absorbed in the simplicity of one specific task and your senses. Love your posts! Cheers Barbara
