A meandering fall foliage ride on backroads and byways yesterday ended up at Hammonasset Beach, one of my favorite places in Connecticut. The sun was brilliant, the surf was pounding, and the stiff offshore breeze pushed me back a step several times. For me there has always been something magical about walking the beach at any time of the year. It is invigorating to feel the saltwater spray in my hair and let my thoughts follow the sound of the waves while walking the tide’s edge.
